After the success of all four JJC Team members passing at the Solda test last Autumn we are running a specialist group to target this test. We are calling the program;
The program will be limited to 10 spaces with a minimum commitment period to keep continuity in the camp and encourage a team atmosphere.
Austria – Tirol
The program won’t be limited to one glacier. Lift pass options make it possible to ski on all the glaciers within the region – Soeldon, Stubai, Pitztal and Hintertux. We will also have access to non glaciated terrain during our second block, building towards Alpe d’Huez. Our initial focus will be on the glaciers and then moving to non glaciated terrain when possible.
Benefits of being able to train on multiple glaciers:
- Less chance of being dictated to by weather
- More terrain available
- Options to choose where and what skiing will be most beneficial to the team
- Lanes less dictated to based on priority
- Terrain more uniform and good for building blocks early in the program
Benefits of moving to a resort early:
- Multiple resorts at commutable distance
- Terrain more realistic to test venues and hills variable
- Snow more likely to be packed
- Longer lanes
- Less altitude to contend with
Logistics of moving around:
JJC will provide transport with its team van. We will also provide transport to the tests and race support.
This may be subject to change dependent on weather and where the best training is. We will budget this into the program and deal with the logistics to take any extra stresses away.
Arrival 1/11/15 (We can pick up from airport/train stations)
Training – 2/11/15 – 15/11/15
We will training run up to and inclusive of race support at the Solda test.
Arrival 22/11/15 (We can pick up from airport/train stations)
Training – 23/11/15 – 12/12/15
We will run up to Alpe d’Huez inclusive of race support. Dates 14th- 17th
We are requesting a minimum commitment so we can program to peak for test dates. It is also desirable to avoid disruption from candidates dropping in and out of the program. A primary objective is to create a team environment to train in with a clear plan.
